Founded in 2021, Enthiran Jr FLL Team 50440 is a non-profit youth robotics program operating under the South Asian Artistic Talents (SAAT) Satellite Youth Committee. The organization is dedicated to inspiring young students through robotics, engineering, and innovation by providing hands-on STEM learning opportunities.
Enthiran Jr offers students under the age of 16 the opportunity to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, teamwork, and a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our team is led by experienced high school coaches who mentor and guide students as they explore robotics, design innovative solutions, and build confidence in their abilities.
Based in Markham, Ontario, our community-based team welcomes students from across York Region and Toronto. Through collaboration, innovation, and experiential learning, Enthiran Jr and SAAT strive to empower the next generation of young innovators, leaders, and changemakers.
Meet the Team
Parani Vinayagam is an Integration Architect at the University of Toronto, specializing in Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, enterprise integration, and cloud security. He has over a decade of experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud solutions across the higher education, healthcare, and financial services sectors. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Parani held senior technical roles at eHealth Ontario and the Bank of Montreal, where he led critical infrastructure and middleware initiatives. As a Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate, he provides technical leadership in cloud strategy, architecture, and digital transformation. He is recognized for combining deep technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
Aranesh Athavan is a Cloud & Automation Engineer at Sun Life, specializing in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation solutions. Aranesh has a strong background in designing scalable, automated systems that improve software delivery and operational efficiency. Beyond his professional career, he is passionate about mentoring young engineers through FIRST Robotics, where he served for over seven years as a software developer, drive coach, team captain, director, and mentor. Aranesh is also the founder of Omiris, reflecting his entrepreneurial mindset and interest in leading innovative technology projects. Combining technical expertise with leadership and mentorship, he is committed to advancing cloud technologies while giving back to the engineering and robotics community.
Jothy Sivakumaran is a motivated high school student at Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School in Markham, with a passion for technology, leadership, and innovation. She was selected to participate in SHAD 2026, an enrichment program focused on entrepreneurship, STEM, and collaborative problem-solving. Jothy is actively involved in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics, where she develops skills in engineering, programming, teamwork, and mentoring. As a member of FLL Team 65165, she was recognized with the Coach Award for her dedication, leadership, and commitment to supporting her team’s success. She is also engaged in business and athletics, including participation in DECA and track and cross-country activities. Beyond academics, Jothy enjoys music and cultural pursuits, demonstrating a well-rounded blend of creativity, discipline, and leadership. Through her involvement in STEM, community activities, and experiential learning opportunities, she continues to build the skills and confidence to become a future leader in technology and innovation.
Coach: Kathir Paranee
Kathir Paranee is a dedicated IB student at Milliken Mills High School in Markham, with a strong interest in technology, innovation, and continuous learning. He is actively involved in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics, where he develops skills in engineering, programming, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Through his robotics experience, Kathir has gained valuable hands-on exposure to STEM concepts while collaborating with peers to design solutions and overcome technical challenges. He is passionate about exploring new ideas, building technical skills, and applying knowledge to real-world challenges. Beyond academics, Kathir continues to develop his leadership, communication, and collaboration skills through extracurricular activities and team-based experiences. With his curiosity, dedication, and commitment to learning, he is building a strong foundation for future opportunities in STEM and innovation.
Saktthy Sivakumaran is a BS/MD student at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, pursuing her passion for medicine and healthcare. A former FIRST LEGO League (FLL) participant, she continues to support her robotics team by mentoring younger students and guiding them through research, innovation, and project development for new competition seasons. She is passionate about inspiring students in STEM while sharing her experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and community impact. She also contributed to medical research as a Research Volunteer at St. Michael’s Hospital, assisting with participant recruitment for a paediatrics study. As the Chapter President of HOSA – Future Health Professionals, Saktthy demonstrated leadership by promoting healthcare education and encouraging students to explore careers in medicine. Through her combination of healthcare experience, STEM mentorship, and leadership, she continues to inspire the next generation of innovators and future healthcare professionals.
Mathu Vinayagam is a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) and Director of Operations at PADGETT BUSINESS SERVICES® in Markham, where she provides leadership in accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, and business advisory services for small and medium-sized businesses. She has also contributed to the local community as a Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Markham Arts Council, supporting financial stewardship and community initiatives. Beyond her professional career, she is committed to mentorship, community engagement, and supporting future generations through education, arts, and STEM initiatives.
